Fund Raising... A Necessary Evil

Tempo Club is more than just fund raising, but, fund raising is a necessary evil and vital to the success of the music programs in Fairfield. The music department's budget for every school year is over $50,000. Budgeted items include music, instruments, clinicians, scholarships, contest entry fees and much more. With the budget crunches that our school district annually endures, the Tempo Club can hopefully fill in some of those gaps.

There are two types of fundraising, general and individual. The general fundraisers are intended to raise enough money to meet the budget. The individual fundraisers help subsidize the cost of trips, camps, music lessons, etc. Contact your director for more information on these fundraisers.

An account, similar to a savings account is established for each student that participates in an individual fundraiser. These records are maintained by the individuals mentioned on the "Contacts" page of this website. Students are allowed to carry money over in their account if there is an anticipated need the next school year. This is not true for seniors as they must zero out their account before graduation. This money will be transferred into the general fund or can be willed to a sibling or friend if a request is submitted in writing before the end of the school year.
